Walk down any skincare aisle and you will see two serums everywhere: niacinamide and vitamin C. They are both excellent, just not interchangeable.
Choose niacinamide if…
You deal with excess oil, enlarged pores, or frequent breakouts. Niacinamide regulates sebum, calms redness and strengthens the barrier over time. It is gentle enough for daily use, morning or night.
Choose vitamin C if…
Your main concerns are dullness, dark spots or uneven tone. Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that brightens skin and defends against environmental damage. Apply it in the morning before sunscreen.
Can you use both?
Yes. Many people apply vitamin C in the morning and niacinamide at night. If your skin is sensitive, alternating days is a perfectly good way to start.
